Food Swap Network is a not-for-profit collective dedicated to promoting food swapping and collective food sharing across the world. It costs us about $12 per month to run this site.
This is a project we took on because we love connecting fellow food community members. (Learn more about us here.) We’re not looking to earn money beyond paying for out-of-pocket expenses and continuing to make Food Swap Network a functional resource for food swappers.
Ways to support FSN
HOSTS: At your next swap, place a jar out to collect donations from your swappers for Food Swap Network. If every swap in the network contributes just $20 once a year, the food swapping movement can not only sustain itself, but also grow to be a resource for a larger volume of future swappers and swap hosts. We hope your swap can pitch in periodically.
SWAPPERS: The food swapping movement is based on collective appeal and grassroots approach. Small contributions from anyone who enjoys attending swaps will all make a difference in funding this communal resource.
Hosts and swappers can donate via Paypal, or contact us for more information if you’d like to mail us a check. Please note: We are not designated as a 501(c)3 organization at this time, so your donations will not be tax deductible.
Here’s a breakdown of how the funds donated to FSN will be used:
Site function and design: 70% – How it looks, feels and how the interface works for users
Content and maintenance plan: 26% – Keeping new and relevant information and resources for food swappers and hosts
Budget for upgrades and future initiatives: 4% – Adding features in the future like a forum or shop
Spread the swap love and help us keep FSN going!
